PADI Specialty Instructor training on Phuket for November 2016
It’s almost time for a new PADI IDC on Phuket, scheduled to start in just a few days, but first a blog about the PADI Specialty Instructor training on Phuket for November 2016.
PADI Specialty Instructor training on Phuket for November 2016; Sonja with her Fish ID slate, checking and counting fish on Bida Nok.
With Sonja who participated in the October-November 2017 IDC on Phuket I went diving for her PADI Fish ID instructor level specialty and her PADI Underwater Navigation instructor level specialty at the Bida islands, Bida Nok and Bida Noi with a third dive, just for fun at Anemone reef.
Mel, Jasmine and Andy from the same PADI IDC were also on the boat, just for some fun dives before they were on the move again and leaving Phuket behind them.

The second day of her PADI Specialty Instructor training saw us splashing at the Racha islands, Racha Noi and Racha Yai, for the two dives of the PADI Deep diver instructor level specialty, once more followed by a third dive of the day, just for fun and because we can!
This day saw Jordan on the boat for some fun dives and Cameron was completing PADI specialty Instructor training with Richard, which whom I team taught the recent PADI IDC on Phuket.

Both days diving were enjoyable, we saw lots of fish and corals at both dive sites and Sonja had to meet her performance requirements, which she duly did and hopefully she learned a few things along the way as well.

The deep dives at Racha Noi were fun because we did them with Richard and Cameron together, with thanks to Richard for taking the pictures. The previous day, at the end of the day, my Canon S110 had for the second time the much dreaded ‘lens error’ problem, after which the camera basically shuts down, because the lens either on’t open or close anymore. A well known problem that Canon just doesn’t seem capable of dealing and handling with in a proper way.

After two days of diving, Sonja went on her way to Khao Lak, where a dive instructor job was waiting for her at PADI 5* IDC Center ‘Sea Dragon’, teaching courses and going on the live aboards and/or local dive sites.
The next morning I was driving back home to Koh Samui, to enjoy some time off and with the family, before the next PADI IDC starts in a few days time, to be exact on 22nd November with a PADI IDC Staff Instructor course and the actual PADI IDC kicking off a day later, 23rd November in conjunction with PADI CDC Center ‘Dive Asia’.

Come and see about me and the PADI IDC courses that I teach. This coming Wednesday 23rd November the last PADI IDC for this year will start on Phuket, Thailand, followed by the last PADI IDC all around Thailand and possibly all of South Est Asia, on 9th December on Koh Phangan, Thailand in conjunction with PADI 5* IDC Center ‘Haad Yao Divers’ and the first PADI IDC of 2017 is scheduled to start 10th January 2017 on Phuket, Thailand again, in conjunction with PADI CDC Center ‘Dive Asia’. After this you can find me on 26th January on Koh Lanta, Thailand in conjunction with PADI 5* IDC center ‘ Blue Planet Divers’, one of the very few PADI IDC programs whose dates line up with and inside the Chinese New Years period for 2017.
See you there,
