PADI RESCUE DIVER COURSE
The PADI Rescue Diver course
will develop your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step towards expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. During the course you will cover topics such as diving first aid, panicked diver response, missing diver procedures, in-water artificial respiration and get to practice many dive accident scenarios. The Rescue diver learns to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers.
PADI Rescue
training expands the basic problem prevention and accident management skills divers learn, beginning with the PADI Open Water Diver course. At Rescue level, students are ready to learn to manage more complex dive emergencies and to apply direct intervention techniques to assist others in an emergency. This course is demanding but realistic in it's conduct, content and approach. The nature and context in which rescue training may be used is serious although the course should be an enjoyable challenge that builds diver confidence.
The goals of this course are:
- Increase awareness of diver safety
- Develop diver's abilities to anticipate and prevent problems as well as to manage them
- Teach effective rescue techniques and first aid skills specific to diving
- Prepare divers to manage diver emergency situations
- Expand knowledge in preparation for PADI leadership-level training
OVERVIEW
The course can be completed in four days and is divided into three parts:
Knowledge Development: 5 modules. Knowledge Reviews must be answered before meeting the Instructor and will be reviewed with the Instructor. An exam is part of the Knowledge Development.
Rescue training sessions: 5 sessions in which you learn the steps to deal effectively with an injured diver in and out of the water.
Open water Rescue scenarios: 4 scenarios where you will apply and integrate the information gathered during the Knowledge Development and Rescue Training sessions.
