PREREQUISITES and REQUIREMENTS PADI CDC CENTER
To qualify for and maintain the PADI 5 Star Career Development Center
status, a 5 Star Instructor Development Center must:
1. Have been a renewed 5 Star Instructor Development Center for at least two years and have no verified PADI Quality Assurance violations within the previous 12 months and no open quality assurance inquiries in progress.
2. To apply, have trained a minimum of 60 Instructor candidates (those who have completed an IDC or OWSI Program.)
3. Have on staff two renewed, Teaching status Course Directors (one must be employed full-time) to conduct and/or coordinate all Instructor Development Courses, and other Instructor-level training.
4. Continue to meet all Dive Center , 5 Star Dive Center and 5 Star Instructor Development Center requirements.
5. Display PADI educational products and PADI course offerings in the facility, totaling an area not less than 4 square metres/30 square feet.
6. Have offered and conducted (and continue to offer and conduct) a complete career development curriculum that is at least six weeks long and includes, but is not limited to:
7. Provide each CDC candidate with a personal set of PADI materials specific to the courses the candidate participates in.
8. Issue at least 60 instructor level certifications annually, 15 of which must be IDC / OWSI Program certificates of completion. Programs that qualify for instructor level certifications include, but are not limited to, Assistant Instructor, EFRI, Specialty Instructor and instructor-level Career Development Programs.
9. Have a course catalog outlining the six week career development curriculum offered.
10. Have in place and offer to candidates a full-time graduate placement assistance service.
