I have just been certified as owsi and also 6 other speciality instructor with course director Camille Lemmens, at Sea Dragon dive center in khao Lak Thailand.
In the IDC there was 6 different nationality of people with different mother tongue but Camille managed to teach all off us and made sure that everyone was ready and well prepared for the IE, and we all passed.
Camille is a very good teacher, always willing to help to assured that we all made it.
Jason Moustache, Seychelles, OWSI, November 2013, Khao Lak, Thailand
Finally everybody made it to an OWSI!
What a fantastic feeling after 12 days hard work, lessons classroom performance, Pool sessions... And everything under pressure. Tension was definitely increasing even we had also a lot of fun in our class due to the dutch Humor of our governor ;-)
I was very glad to meet Camille Lemmens, with his experience he guided us safe into the harbour
After so many ups and downs, and if I write down that meant really down on earth at the edge to give up! And everybody went through this, some more relaxed, some completly stressed. I was also very lucky to meet these bunch of IDC fellowers, all very individual, but giving a real good team Spirit. Thanks to them and thanks to Camille's empathetic, experienced way to handle all of us, we could all succeed!
Hope to See You all again!
Alex Bruder, Germany, OWSI, November 2013, Khao Lak, Thailand
Finally a dream came true! After 12 days of intensive hard work and after a lot of good moments shared in class, in the swimming pool and at the Sea, at the end of November 2013, and just before my birthday I got the most nicest present I could have ever dreamt about: Being certified as a PADI OWSI.
However, now that these days are gone I've realized that this birthday present was not only being certified as a PADI OWSI... the real present I was given, was to be able to spend 12 days with such an amazing people.
Thank you Camille for all that you gave to us. For always being there for us... in the early mornings, and during the whole IDC. Thank you for you patience, your remarks, your jokes and specially thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us. It has been a real pleasure to learn from you.
Camille Lemmens knows what he does, and he does it in the proper way. He knows how to make it challenging but at the same time easy and he knows how to make you learn!!!
Thank you also to Ann, for being our support in physics for being always smiling and for being there for us. It has been great to have her around...
And... thank you to all the Candidates!! we were all so lucky to have us as buddies in this IDC Annie, for her energy and for her funny noises yuhuuuuuu! Jason, for always being smiling and for telling us stories about the time when he was young (he's the Governor!); Alex, for being always so lovely, always so kind...a real gentleman! and Chrissy... for aalways taking care of us with the snacks... and even with a Massage!!!!
So now that the target is achieved, I can say, that what truly worth the IDC (apart from being Certified), was the way to reach it, sharing all these special moments of this multicultural and genuine IDC team headed by Camille!
Patricia 'Pato' Molina Martinez, "I'm from Barcelona!", Spain, OWSI, November 2013, Khao Lak, Thailand
I just been certified as an OWSI/MSDT thanks to Camille, on Gilli Air, Oceans5. We were all from a different background, about 6 of us, and during the IDC, Camille, our Course Director, managed to make it easy and fun, showing patience and dutch humor as well as lots of knowledge. None of us spoke English as their native language, but we manage to understand and passed the IE with confidence (The 6 of us did) counting the fact that we're coming from very different horizons. IE can seem impressive and stressful, but He taught us with interactivity on a comfortable way, made us feeling involved understanding the PADI teaching system. I'm very grateful I've learned with Camille, and couldn't expect better from a Course Director that allowed us to believe in ourselves, to begin on a solid base, starting our PADI instructor career with confidence.
Franck Chevrolat, France, OWSI, October 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
I wish to express my gratitude to Camille Lemmens, PADI Course Director.
I recently took my IDC with Camille in preparation for my IE. I want to let you now that the course was tough, hard work, but also interesting, informative, widened my diving knowledge but above all fun. Camille is a very good teacher and was able and capable of answering all questions as well as prepare me and the others for the IE.
I would highly recommend Camille to others.
'Professor' David Traversa, Italy, OWSI, October 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
"From what we get, we make a living. From what we give, we make a life".
And with this attitude Camille prepared us (me and 5 boys!) during the IDC in October 2013, on Gili Air at Oceans 5. Excited as I was at day one, more comfortable I was on day 2, looking forward to day 3, learning interesting facts about your passion on day 4, feeling more and more confidence about Physics and stuff on day 5, having fun with my boys in the pool at day 6, having a Bintang with the group on day 7, feeling sad that it all almost comes to an end at day 8... and being supported during the IE at day 9 & 10 by Camille. I feel lucky. I learned a lot and had fun. Most important aspect of all is that I felt comfortable, which increases the ability to learn. An aspect that I will take with me as a Padi dive instructor!
Michelle Gina Heeringa, the Netherlands, OWSI, October 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
I finished my IDC recently in Gili Air at Oceans 5 with the lead of course director Camille. I was a bit unsecure about my performance at starting of the course but understanding, patient, professional and most importantly FUN approach towards the students was amazing. I could've not been able to imagine how much fun and learning I signed up for.
Coordination with Sander Buis who did physics with us was seamless. Thanks for both for course and succeeding!
Was extremely fun ten days and of course the following career as PADI dive instructor. Thank you Camille ! Highly recommend for every one whose still considering to become instructor!
Jüri Tõnnov, Finland, OWSI, October 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
I have worked in the top premium market segment for 20 years as a senior executive and when I see premium quality, I would recognise it.
This is what the IDC conducted by Camille is about - premium quality. Not only did Camille conduct the IDC in a highly professional, well-organized manner but what impressed me most is his passion about teaching and the eagerness to fostering the best instructors he could. This is not easy for someone who have done this for 14 years already.
If being an instructor to you is just about having the card and the status, I would advise you to go somewhere else. But if you really want to learn from the best about the art of teaching scuba diving and would like to come out as a real instructor who are robust in your knowledge and skills, I would recommend you to take your IDC from Camille. Yes, the 10-days of IDC from Camille is intensive, sometimes exhausting but it is also a lot of fun.
Thank you, Camille. I am glad I did the IDC with you and you are definitely a role model for me.
Gary Wong, Hong Kong, OWSI, October 2013, Koh Samui, Thailand
Hadrien Rancurel, France, OWSI, September 2013, Koh Phangan, Thailand
I recently completed an IDC with Camille in Samui. I was very lucky to have 1-1 tuition and found the whole experience both very rewarding and informative as well as fun and engaging. I searched him out after hearing about his reputation and experience as a course director. I think experience really matters in diving and often during the IDC Camille related the material to personal experience both in relation to passing the IE and also in terms of real life work as an OWSI, this made it easy for me to relate to the material. Also, with high standards needed to be achieved during his IDC, it meant I was very well equipped to deal with the IE; scoring higher in each element at the IE then i did at IDC.
We had a good laugh, we got the job done and I would recommend Camille with nothing but the highest praise to anyone!!
Ben Chapman, UK, OWSI, June 2013, Koh Samui, Thailand
I really enjoyed my IDC with Camille. His relaxed attitude and patience made it very easy.
Also his experience and knowledge about diving and the dive- industry will not only make you easily pass the IE but prepare you for your further career as a PADI- dive instructor.
Great experience and great fun.
Marco van Duren, The Netherlands, OWSI, April 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
The IDC course at Oceans 5 in April 2013 was so fun and inspirational all thanks to Camille! Camille was very knowledgeable and it showed in his teaching. His organisation in preparing us for our IE and our future diving career was impeccable. I would recommend Camille as the course director for anyone looking to become an instructor.
Alycia Garriock, Australia, OWSI, April 2013, Gili Air Indonesia
Due to odd circumstances, I had the privilege to attend not one, but two IDC's with Camille. Needless to say they were both amazing learning experiences. Camille's attention to detail and strict but flexible teaching style meant only the best experience and made the IE a breeze.
His ability to teach in numerous languages makes understanding for multi-lingual classes easy and his experience means he can relate any information to you personally so that you have no trouble with the tricky bits.
Needless to say, if i were asked where to do an IDC i would send the person asking straight to Camille.
Thanks for a great time and making a scruffy kid like me a competent instructor, Camille!
John O'Malley, South Africa, OWSI, April 2013, Gili Air Indonesia
Camille is an outstanding Course Director. He made the IDC very thorough and the IE seemed like a walk in the park. He is very enthusiastic about his job he and made the course fun. I learned a lot about the process of teaching and being a PADI pro. I would highly recommend Camille as a Course Director!
Allie Meyer, OWSI, USA, March 2013, Koh Phangan, Thailand
Thorsten Klein, Deutschland, OWSI, March 2013, Koh Phangan, Thailand
Thank you very much for all the hard work and effort you put into making the IDC at Oceans 5 Gili Air very effective. It fulfilled my requirements perfectly. I am very impressed with your approach to the course, all the aspects and information you provide makes the course very comprehensive. You have lots of experience and are very knowledgeable about the teaching processes of Padi and the requirements required for you to succeed in the Instructor examination.
Your attention to detail is very high and your organisational skills are second to none. These skills help put your IDC candidates at ease and leads them through the entire process. Your teaching techniques and illustrations are clear and easy to follow, you have high standards and push your IDC candidates to perform at a very high level. The result of this means your candidates are very prepared for the IE, and are able to demonstrate their dive instructing abilities easily and in a relaxed manner.
I would recommend your IDC to other people considering becoming Padi dive instructors. I wouldn't be surprised if I went on to do further training with you. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you.
Matthew Anderson, UK, OWSI, February 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
I did my IDC course with Camille at Ocean's 5, Gili Air. The way Camille teaches is unique, he prepares you so well that you go cruising through the IE and at the same time keeps the fun level high so you can enjoy every moment of it. He is a great professional and loves what he is doing. A big thanks to Camille and ocean's 5 for the life changing experience!
Ignatios Simeonidis, Greece, OWSI, February 2013, Gili Air, Indonesia
Ralf Bommersbach, Germany, OWSI, January 2013, Koh Lanta, Thailand
When I decided to enroll in an IDC someone told me that choosing the right Course Director for my instructor training was the most important decision. Now that it's done I agree and I'm happy that I did my IDC with Camille Lemmens in Jannuay 2013 on Koh Lanta.
I'm still thrilled with the results. It was a really great experience and I feel I learned a lot from it!
I first contacted Camille per email and he was very friendly and helpful from the first moment. He explained all the details about the course, answered all my questions and was available for any follow-up concerns or new issues. Needless to say, my impression was excellent from the beginning.
The course was held in the Padi 5 star IDC center of Blue Planet Divers in Ban Saladan on Koh Lanta in Thailand and it was a full time commitment for 10 days with a lot of studying, lessons in the classroom and pool trainings.
Even though we were a big group of 10 candidates with different background and preparation, Camille did such a great job taking care of everyone individually and helping each of us to focus on his own difficulties. Somedays Camille and his Staff instructors stayed in the classroom until late evening helping some of us with the Dive Theory.
During the classroom and pool training Camille not just taught how to be prepared to pass the IE but also trained us to learn and understand how the Padi system works, how to use it and how to become good instructors. It was much more than I had expected.
As not native English speaker, I was a bit nervous before the course start and worried about that. But it was never a problem. Camille took time to repeat, spoke slowly, explained until everything was clear.
Camille is a very efficient, patient and professional teacher. When he teaches his lessons you can see that although he taught for many years now he is still enjoying and passionate at it. He share his extensive knowledge with real life stores, anecdotes and humor that makes every lesson pleasant and interesting. Before to go for the IE each candidate received an individual counseling and during the exam Camille was always present to assist and encourage us.
Some days after completed the IDC and passed the IE, I met Camille again in Koh Samui to take my Sidemount Specialty Instructor Course.
After the IE I was much relaxed and enjoyed a lot the dives as well spending the time on the boat talking with Camille about the benefits of diving in Sidemount, playing around with different setups and discussing the new opportunities of this fastest growing new trend in diving.
If you are thinking about taking your IDC/IE in Asia, Camille Lemmens is the person you should get in touch with!
Thank you again Camille, Kevin Black (Master Instructor), Anand Chandra Sekaran (IDC Staff Instructor) and the whole staff at Blue Planet Divers in Koh Lanta for this great time.
Leandro Frigerio, Italy, OWSI, January 2013, Koh Lanta, Thailand
My IDC in Malapascua, November 2012, was such a great experience. I had completely other expections when I started the IDC, I was kind of nervous and I had no idea what will happen the coming days.
Camille taught us a lot and I could see the difference (how we perform skills, how we did our presentations, how we get into the PADI System) just after a few days. Camille made it happen that all of us felt comfortable during the course even after a bad score. We were all well prepared for the IE after this IDC, and we all managed to pass the IE with success.
I will recommend all Divers who want to become an Open Water Scuba Instructor or Speciality Instructor to do it with Camille Lemmens and do the IDC with a smile. Just as we did.
Thank you Camille, Joahan Blixt (Master Instructor / Assistant during this IDC) and the whole staff of Sea Explorers in Malapascua for this great time.
Franziska Horn, Luxembourg, OWSI, December 2012, Malapascua, Philippines
I did not originally think of becoming a PADI Instructor but as I was working as a Divemaster I was recommended to go to Malapascua and do the IDC with Course Director Camille Lemmens. I did do so and this is something that I don't think I'll ever regret! The course was loads of fun, I met a bunch of interesting people taking the Instructor course just like me. Camille added to the fun, making sure the classroom sessions never got too boring and made sure we all had the knowledge to go well prepared into the IE.
For anyone in doubt to go through an IDC I can only say that you'll have a ton of fun and accumulate a bunch of knowledge and experience going through an IDC with Camille.
Oskar Arvidsson, Sweden, OWSI, December 2012, Malapascua, Philippines
So far, Camille is the only Course Director I happen to have seen in an IDC. But I wouldn't hesitate a second, recommending everybody who'd ask me, to take his or her IDC with Camille. He makes you feel comfortable and confident in what you are doing. In a humerous and easy-going manner he conducts his focused and efficient preparation for the final Instructor Examination, including a private counseling for every participant.
I learnt a lot from his experiences and little (teach-)diving stories spread all over thecourse. And by the end of the course felt well prepared for teaching my first students!
Tabea Grabitz, Germany, OWSI, December 2012, Malapascua, Philippines
My name is Paden, and I just finished my IDC/IE with Camille Lemmens through Oceans Five on Gili Air, Indonesia. Just a few months ago I was a divemaster living in a place where you can't really dive and you are hard pressed to find anybody who knows much about diving. This would just not due so I started researching different places in the world, and dive centers in those places. I was lucky enough to find Oceans 5 website. I became friends with them on Facebook, and really liked what I saw. So I decided to send them an email asking about their IDC. They replied promptly with great things to say about the island and the diving. After some thought I decided to make the 40 hour journey to the other side of the world to become a dive instructor and I have not regretted it for one minute since.
When I finally got to the island all the people at the dive center were very welcoming and helped me get comfortable on the island. After a little while I realized that the dive center was like a big family. A big family that loves to adopt new kids, for five months or five days they don't care. I had been diving with Oceans 5 for about four months before I started my IDC. In those four months I learned a lot about diving. I felt I had grown a lot as a diver. Then Camille arrived to start the IDC, and in those 8-10 days Camille taught me more than I learned in those four months.
The IDC was an intensive session of learning. Although, the way Camille organized it the course was a fun learning environment. There were only four of us in the IDC and we all had a lot of fun. Camille had all of us more than prepared to pass our IE. We were lucky enough that the PADI examiner came to Gili Air for such a small group. Camille stuck around during the IE to give the candidates moral support. He even stuck around for the after party. It was a night to remember.
My experience on Gili Air has been greater than any dream I could have. I have been very lucky to find such an amazing place full of amazing people. I would like to thank Sander, Simone, and everyone involved with Oceans 5 from staff to customers. You all have made for a great time and I can't wait to come back to this small island paradise. A big thanks to Camille for helping make my dream a reality, I can't thank you enough for everything. And to everyone reading this if you have ever thought about becoming a dive professional I highly recommend it, and Gili Air is an amazing place to make that happen. To all the non-divers out there get out there and learn to dive! I never thought I would enjoy diving, actually the thought terrified me, and now you see where I am.
Paden Wilson, USA, OWSI, November 2012, Gili Air, Indonesia
My name is David from Belgium and I completed my IE on the 2nd of November in Indonesia.
My IDC instructor was Camille Lemmens, friends of mine recommended doing the course with Camille. After about 30sec of hesitation I decided to do this course in Gili Air. Camille does come from The Netherlands and I am from Belgium, hence my hesitation.
When I arrived at the Oceans 5 dive resort my first impression was an unbelievably well run dive resort with first class equipment, great diving facilities (love the pool), beautiful rooms. I must admit I was a bit stressed and uncertain about my abilities as a diver in starting this IDC adventure. But all the staff is very professional and did everything to comfort me.
When I met Camille I felt I met a guy who lives, eats and breathes diving. To work with such an experienced professional is a blessing. It was hard work, stress and studying. But Camille did such a great job by being patient and alternating his lessons in a way we never felt bored. After the course I felt I was ready to do what I love to do, teach diving and see those beautiful smiles when people come out of the water after their first dive.
I would like to emphasize the great teaching methodology and personality of Camille and would highly recommend everybody doing a course with Camille at Oceans 5.
Of the bottom of my heart : Thanks Camille and the Oceans 5 crew!
David Bosmans, Belgium, Padi Open Water Scuba Instructor #283701, November 2012, Gili Air, Indonesia
Wow! I did my IDC with Camille at Oceans 5, Gili Air, Indonesia in August 2012 and I have not looked back.
After completing the new Divemaster course in August 2011 I wanted a new challenge, I found it. The few weeks leading up to the IDC/IE were daunting and I found myself worrying about the RDP exam along with the open water presentations. However, once I met Camille and he explained the IDC and the IE to me, my stress levels dropped and I was able to take onboard all the information he gave me with ease. He really held my hand and walked me all the way through the IDC and the IE.
It was a very busy and tiring 10 days without much rest bite. Nonetheless it was so worth it. The man has a wealth of knowledge waiting to be tapped by an inquisitive mind willing to learn.
I can't stress how easy Camille made it for me and everyone else. No question was left unanswered. He was very organized and in turn so were we. The only thing left for us to do was the homework.
I also did the Nitrox, DUP and Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty courses. I only wish we had the time to do more. Camille's course is well priced along with the specialty courses.
I would recommend Camille's IDC to everyone!
Diolch yn fawr iawn Camille
Matt Constantine, Wales, OWSI, August 2012, Gili Air, Indonesia
We are Cindy & Max from France
We arrived in Gili Air as Advanced in May 2012 & we leaved the island in September as a PADI Instructor!
We grown up in the PADI family so quickly, it's amazing!!!!
We were very lucky to had IDC & IE in Gili Air, which is a very nice but small island
We really enjoyed our IDC by Camille
We are not native English speaker, so we were a bit nervous and worried about that. The Question was, can we do it in English? But it was Ok, because Camille took time to repeat, speak slowly, explain : "tu as compris maintenant?"
The IDC was an intense 10 days: stress for our classroom presentation in English, homework after a long day, but every day we had a big fun, laught
The IE was like Camille said "It's Easy"
Thank you again Camille
Thank you Sander & Simone of Oceans 5, Dive resort Gili Air

Hugues Grenard, OWSI, Reunion Island, South West Indian Ocean, April 2012, Khao Lak, Thailand
I'm a current Padi instructor and in need of another direction in my current diving career.
I wanted to find out how to grow in the PADI business and on the web I found Camille and got in touch with him, he gave me the instructions to follow and 2 months later I was shaking his hand in Thailand, that was great, quick and no regrets at all.
I took a friend af mine, who became an instructor after that IDC and I became an IDCS Instructor!
It was very pleasant, lots of homework, but learnt a lot again, a real powerfull injection that keeps me going untill today, and Camille gave me the taste to continue on my way to Course Director! I'll be pleased to see him again. Tough, good and straightforward, with lots af laughs and fun moments, the qualities I'm looking for, to get teached and how I teach every since!
Very good and to recommend, we'll see each other again Camille, for teaching and jokings!
Stefaan Dewulf, IDC staff, Reunion Island, South West Indian Ocean, April 2012, Khao Lak, Thailand
After completing my IDC Staff course in the Philippines I got interested in staffing. I had been teaching for three years and staffing an IDC felt like a nice variety from other courses; as well I found a new challenge for myself within the dive industry.
In the Philippines I met Camille, who taught an IDC in conjunction with the Dive centre I was working for, and we immediately got along well. Even though the time we spend together was brief, I had a good feeling about working together some day.
The moment I moved to Thailand I found the opportunity to staff with Camille. At the start of the first IDC I staffed he kindly asked me whether I felt comfortable or not doing presentations. I was not just quite there, so I replied that I would like to see Camille his presentations. During this IDC I have been making many notes. By the end of it I had a notebook written full. Even hearing the presentations for the third time, I was constantly fascinated by the real life application of every single power point slide we got to see.
The second IDC I staffed with Camille I happily did IDC presentations, knowing I have had the best training possible, and I felt ready to pass on my knowledge to IDC candidates.
Julia van Beinum, The Netherlands, Master Instructor, April 2012, Khao Lak, Thailand
"I decided to take instructor specialities (DUP and deep diving) straight after I had become an PADI instructor. And as I was due to go to the Philippines last March, I wrote to all the course directors working there.
Camille Lemmens was the first one to answer me but more important to give me precise and accurate informations.
He was also the only one to accept to teach me while running an IDC in Malapascua which meant long working hours for him.
Camille is very available and always keen on giving advice and a very positive person, making you feel that (almost) everything is possible.
I have enjoyed his professionalism, the high level of his teaching and his involvment and passion for teaching and diving along with his great personality and good sense of humour.
I have had a tremendous time learning and diving with him and I am proud to know that we were together when he saw his first thresher shark.
He is among the few instructors I have had who have made me want to become an Instructor.
And I will not hesitate to ask him to give me training if I decide to become a Staff instructor.
Camille has the TEACHING and DIVING spirits !
I highly recommend him and wish him all the success he deserves.
Thank you Camille !
Stéphanie Coulibaly, Paris and Asia, PADI OWSI, Specialties during March at Malapascua, Philippines
Hi my name is Rui from Japan. I just completed IDC by Camille and passed IE in the end of March 2012 in Malapascua, Philippines.
I loved my IDC by Camille very much. I'm not a native English speaker, so that I was a bit nervous and worried about that I can make it in English or not before start IDC. But my distress had gone soon after, he took it away promptly.
It was just incredibly fun!!! You don't believe that!? Well, there were always peals of laughter in the classroom. I had never thought that IDC is such a great fun as I could learn a lot of knowledge and skills from him but in the meantime I laughed a lot. He is super approachable and sociable, there is always an affable smile on his cheeks.
I believe that Camille has a wonderful conversation skill to attract people. I never feel boring and even once during our classroom lessons. He always put us at ease and showed us a certain point which we should have focused or weak subject of individual. I could easily find a way what I needed for the moment or for the next step.
I would definitely choose Camille as my Course Director, If I have to do IDC again...but no more!!
I really appreciate for giving me a good opportunity and a lot of knowledge and especially BIG FUN
ARIGATO so much, my best Course Director Camille.
I can highly recommend Camille as your Course Director!!!!!!!!
Rui Hoshiyama, OWSI, Japan, March 2012, Malapascua, Philippines
Having worked solidly as an instructor for the 3 years since originally completing my IDC I had decided that the time had come to take a step further in my career development and to focus on preparing myself to become more competent in instructor development programs and I felt the best way to do this was to staff an IDC. Being based in SE Asia there is a wide range of possibilities to choose from when looking for a Course Director and as I had selected my IDC and my IDCSI course in the past I now felt I had better grounds upon which to make a decision as to who to pick for further development.
I picked Camille initially based on his responses to my communications as they stood out from other Course Directors as being more directly related to my needs as opposed to outlining a generic approach to course delivery. Beyond this I researched as much as I could and only found positive opinions on him.
Right from the start Camille took a great deal of interest in where I fit in to the diving industry and what my future intentions are and specifically what I wanted out of the course. It had been a long time since I sat my IDC so this was a fantastic opportunity to go over the content again in a stress free environment and I was surprised how much I learned about "the basics" which I thought I had in the bag already. As an IDC staff instructor I am certified to teach up to AI level but really did not feel prepared to do so prior to sitting this IDC with Camille, I now feel I can offer the AI course to my students and deliver a strong course in return.
Camille has a great ability to remove a lot of the stress that is inherent in the IDC. He manages to keep even the most uninteresting topics entertaining without drifting from the point and when someone hits a hurdle he manages to break down the subject and put it all together in terms that even the likes of I can understand. There were many occasions throughout the course when candidates (me included) requested 1-2-1 time after hours to go through things and Camille was always open to this. As well as being educational, the IDC I sat in with Camille was also very good fun and in general an experience that I look forward to taking part in again sometime soon.

I was interested in staffing IDCs with different Course Directors for more experience, and Camille had been recommended to me by colleagues. The staffing experience on Camille's IDC was exactly what I was looking for: he is very open to share information and ideas; he allowed me to really get involved with presenting, reviewing theory, scoring candidate presentations and giving feedback. The IDC was also great fun for staff and candidates alike, and I learned a lot of new techniques for motivating and setting a relaxed atmosphere. Camille also gave me great advice about my own career development and was very supportive of my goals. Thank you Camille!
Sue Gibbins, UK, PADI Master Instructor, March 2012, Malapascua IDC, Philippines
Hi, my name is Laetitia from Switzerland, French part! I just finished my IDC on Koh Samui and passed my IE in March 2012 with Camille, in Koh Tao, Thailand.
My IDC was cool, fun but serious because there is so much to learn and relearn something. Camille was very patient, encouraging and professional because I have done the course in English.
Camille has taken as much time to explain everything until I had understood everything.
On my IE, Camille was my moral support and encourage me, I believe that there is no better now than he was.
I thank Camille for all he has taught me and I highly recommend it to anyone who want to pass their IDC and IE to do with Camille.
Be ready to have lots of fun and learn so much in every way in all subjects.
Thank you again Camille and the Dive Academy.
Laetitia Zimmermann, Switzerland, OWSI, March 2012, Koh Samui, Thailand
I am Jeff Huang, a 26 year old male Singaporean student. When I did my dive master course in Bali last year, I was so happy with my dive resort's service standards that I wanted to continue my dive education with them. It was by pure coincidence that my school holidays did not allow for that to be arranged, and I ended up doing my IDC with Camille in Khao Lak from the 5th till 16th December 2011.
It was with loads of skepticism that I started the course with this strange Dutchman who lives in Thailand. This was especially so since I only do diving as a hobby - I only have 101 dives when I started the IDC- naturally the most junior in the group. Despite the initial insecurities, Camille put me right at ease and helped me pass the IE without a glitch.
But as the course developed I found Camille to be really approachable, patient and insightful. These 3 adjectives sum up my impression of Camille and that will be how I remember him.
- insightful because of how he structures the course schedule, and has a methodology that is tried and tested. From day 1 he lays out what we can expect with great clarity, and after that he just unpacks the course materials like clockwork
- patient because of how he would ensure each candidate grasps the required concepts, and would spend extra time on day offs to hone the skills/classroom presentations/ theory as necessary.
- approachable is an understatement- he exchanges hand phone numbers across the classroom from day 1, and encourages group study sessions after hours. He is not only approachable himself, but he fosters a strong team spirit and camaraderie that is clearly evident during our actual IE that even the examiner mentioned that taking our group was very easy and he actually enjoyed his time with us.
Camille, here's a big THANK YOU once more! =]

Hi, my name is Pablo and I am completely addicted to diving. Like me you may be thinking of becoming a dive instructor enabling you to fund your own addiction by passing this addiction onto others. Well if your thinking about completing your IDC in Asia, then make the right choice and have Camille as your Course Director.
Why Camille? Well if you have already read the other testimonials on his website then you can quickly put together the repeating pattern of his qualities. Like others before me I found Camille's instruction as world class. He is knowledgeable, patient and professional. He puts students at ease and caters to individual students learning styles, strengths and weaknesses.
What I found most important was that he is extremely approachable and generally a very likeable person. This came as a complete relief for me as through my extensive travels I have met a number of course directors who perhaps through engorged egos, are simply just lacking the approachability that Camille displays with such ease. After finishing the IDC with Camille at Oceans 5, Indonesia, I was not able to complete my Instructor Exam (IE) straight away due to previous engagements. I had to complete the IE two months later in Sydney. At first I was worried that after two months I would forget the preparation that Camille had taught me. Alas I need not of worried. In the lead up to my IE in Sydney Camille made himself available to me via skype and supported me with doubts I had. Even though he was almost 7000 km away I could still feel his support via the internet. I completed my IE hassle free, scoring almost full marks and realised that Camille's scoring throughout the IDC was in fact much harder then the examiners, therefore preparing me at a much higher standard. This made for a stress free exam.
However what i found most appealing about Camille is that he still has that infectious passion for diving. I was always hesitant about spending all this money on an IDC as unlike other PADI courses it doesn't require that much actual Open water diving. Most of the classes are in the pool or classroom and with the first class diving facilities and dive sites offered by Oceans 5 on our doorstep my addiction was gnawing at me. Luckily I soon realised that Camille is a fellow addict. Even with our busy schedule Camille made time to allow me to go diving everyday and he would relish the chance of joining me in the water. I will never forget our dive with turtles, sharks and octopus where he taught me some very unusual hand signals. Or the dives with incredible numbers of Ornate ghost pipefish just posing for our cameras. He is also a fellow gin lover, has great taste in music and is generally an interesting guy and I am sure theres more to him then I ever had the time to find out. Thanks Camille for feeding my addiction, being an incredibly good teacher, a wicked dive buddy and a friend. I look forward to the chance of diving with you again.
Paul (a.k.a Pablo) Cannings, Australia, PADI OWSI #268231, November 2011, Gili Air, Indonesia.
I have just successfully completed one of Camille Lemmens IDC's in Koh Samui and I am delighted also to have passed the I.E.
Camille is brilliant at what he does, as Course Director, he makes everything he teaches seem very easy. He knows what is expected of candidates to succeed in passing an IDC and IE and he did his best to get us ready, as long as we were prepared to listen, learn and put in the hard work required to get a pass score.
We were also very lucky to have three other great IDC staff Instructors present, Paul Meredith from The Dive Academy, here in Samui, Christophe, who came in from the Seychelles and Imad from the Emirates. The three of them were great helping us iron out the pool skills and rescues, making presentations and generally giving us great encouragement and support throughout.
It was a pretty intense schedule and personally, having not done anything like this for a very long time, I did not find it that easy, however it turned out to be a great learning experience, with lots of hard work but fun as well.
I cannot thank Camille enough, for his excellent tutoring, patience and push to get me through this successfully.
There where many smiling faces last week as I and all my fellow candidates celebrated our pass on this IDC and I.E.
Christine Holley, UK, OWSI, November 2011, Koh Samui, Thailand.
So many things have changed and are changing for me since I did MY IDC & IE if you had of told me this before hand during my IDC I would never of believed you, they are all good a lot more than I could have thought possible as they say no pain no gain ....;-)))))))))).
Thank you again Camille and Sander of Oceans 5 dive resort Gili Air
Wayne Jennings, Australia, OWSI, August 2011, Gili Air, Indonesia
At the beginning of our course Camille said that the I.E that we were preparing for was not in fact an acronym for 'Instructor Exam' but stood for, 'It's Easy'.
Having just passed my I.E with flying colours, I can now tell you that it only stands for 'It's Easy', because of Camille's passion, approach and leadership within the course which reflects on you as a student. It's hard work, yes, but Camille sticks with you all the way and helps you to understand and grasp the concepts of the Padi Teaching Methods and the knowledge required for the Theory exams.
In summary, a great course, taught by a great guy. I would thoroughly recommend you take an IDC with Camille to ensure 'It's Easy' when it's your turn to sit the Instuctor Exams.
Lorne Harris, UK, PADI Instructor 273234, July 2011, Koh Samui, Thailand
I recently completed my PADI IDC in Koh Samui. Thanks to my Course Director I passed my IE with flying colors. The IDC was an intense 10 days but well worth it because it really prepared us (we were a class of 5) for the exam. Going into the IDC I was not sure if I was ready to be an instructor but now I can confidently say that I'm ready and can not wait to instruct my first class. My enthusiasm for teaching and diving has grown so much in the last few weeks. I thank Camille for teaching me so much about the PADI Dive Industry and for being a wonderful mentor.
Leslie Webb, USA, OWSI, July 2011, Koh Samui, Thailand
Thanks Camille for making our IDC fun and interesting. You kept it balanced by preparing us well for the I.E. and more importantly, instilled confidence for dealing with dive situations that we may have with students. For anyone considering what course director to use, I highly recommend Camille and would not change a thing if I had to do it over again.
Clyde Wylie, USA, OWSI, July 2011, Osan, South Korea - as part of the first Western PADI IDC in South Korea ever!
The IDC this July with Camille was excellent. The level of instruction that we received was world class and he was great at putting everyone at ease and answering all our questions. When We first started I was a nervous wreck. On top of completing the IDC and getting ready for the Instructor Exam, I was in the final weeks of planning for my wedding which was scheduled for the weekend immediately following the IDC/IE. Camille and the IDC staff made the experience not only educational but fun, to the point that by the time we were done with the evaluations and presentations, you didn't even realize that you were a third of the way done, half way done or that you were about to step into the IE the following day, it was great. If I had to do it over again, I would definitely go through it with Camille and I wouldn't think twice about signing up to learn from him.
Thank you Camille for helping me to get ready for the IE and making a stressful event seem like a day at the beach.
Luis Rico-Castillo, USA, OWSI, July 2011, Osan, South Korea - as part of the first Western PADI IDC in South Korea ever!
For those considering becoming a PADI Instructor, here is a quick Input-Output-Outcome analysis on Camille Lemmon's and his PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). Inputs include a motivated Instructor Candidate, the PADI Instructor Development Course, and a world class Course Director. The output is simply a candidate capable of passing the PADI Instructor Exam (IE). The outcome however is much more dynamic. Camille not only completely prepares you for the IE he coaches, mentors, and inspires each candidate to become the best instructor possible. After receiving Camille's instruction you will successfully fly through the IE and are immediately ready to take on your first student. Additionally, I enjoyed and appreciated Camille's personnal and professional method of instruction, time and money well spent! I look forward to diving with Camille again and showing off my new skills to the Master!
Jay A Blakley, USA, OWSI, July 2011, Osan, South Korea - as part of the first Western PADI IDC in South Korea ever!
If you are looking for a Course Director who will give you the best start to your Instructor career then Camille is your man. His IDC's are extremely comprehensive and thorough and he educates you in a way that more than ensures you are adequately prepared for the IE; providing lots of insight and great experience to bring the theory to life. But if you undertake your IDC on Samui and he suggests taking you to Little Holland for lunch, make your excuses quickly!!
Claire Whitfield, UK, OWSI, May 2011, Koh Samui, Thailand
1st of all thank you!
After some years as Dive Master and videographer, it was not obvious to cross and jump into the IDC and become a PADI Instrutor. But, I was thinking, it's something more to learn and another card to show to work into the diving world!...as you can understand was not easy to go into all of this again!!! ...I enjoyed it, really! Camille made things in a very comfortable way, all was smooth and organized. No rush and no stress, allways helpfull and professional. What to ask more!!??
We arrive to the I.E more than ready, the 2 days of what should be "stress" became fun, with laughter and jokes all around, all his group succeed.
Thank you again, as well to Sander and Simone of Oceans 5, Resort Dive Center.
Cécile Gennari, France, OWSI, April/May 2011, Gili Air, Indonesia - as part of Camille's first IDC in Indonesia
During the completion of our Dive master course we met up with Platinum PADI Course Director Camille Lemmens.
We decided to undertake the PADI Instructor Development Course (PADI IDC) with one of our close friends and also another Divemaster. Due to the small group set up we received a high level of individual attention and personalised advice from Camille.
Camille is a well organised and a great teacher. He follows a structured approach to teaching and this meant that we were and felt well prepared for the IE and confident in the knowledge gained througout the IDC process.
We can truly say that we hit Gold with our course director and we have learnt more than ever imagined. Our brains became sponges taking on vital techniques on how to pass on and teach this wonderful and fun sport of ours. We loved every moment.
Marisa and Daniel de Jager, South Africa, OWSI, March/April 2011, Koh Lanta, Thailand
I did my IDC at Blue Planet divers at Koh Lanta with Camille and right from the start I knew I had chosen the right CD to do it with he made the theory very easy to understand and with some subjects that where not my strong point he still made it easy and pass the IE with flying colours. Not only the theory but also the practicle side of things, but what I thought was the best part about doing it with Camille is he made it fun! I have never been a big fan of sitting in classrooms but I actually enjoyed going to the idc, well once he promised me there would be no "smelting accidents" Camille has greatly inproved my knowledge and passion for diving and everyday I am thankfull for this, but not just for my idc he has still helped me many months after and I feel very secure in the fact I know Camille is always at the end of a telephone or email.
If anyone is thinking about doing their idc in Thailand I highly recommend Camille and I am sure you will be happy with your choice of using him
Thanks for everything Camille

In 1996, at 14 years of age, I got my Junior Open Water SCUBA certification. Even though it was quite some time ago, the memory is still very vivid: I recall how much I looked up to my instructor, the way he made me feel undeniably safe, even though the feeling of being underwater was so unnerving. I remember thinking how calm and collected he was. I also remember thinking that it would probably take me a lifetime be that comfortable in such a foreign environment.
Today, 15 years later, I certified my first three junior open water divers. At the beginning of the course, they told me how nervous they were to try SCUBA. Would they really be able to breathe underwater? Would they encounter sharks, eels, and other terrifying sea creatures? What about the final exam—could someone as young as 11 years old understand all the information necessary to be a diver?
When they had finished the classroom portion, they all breathed a sigh of relief, but were still apprehensive about the practical application. However, after surfacing from their first open water dive, they were hooked; and once they had completed their final OW dive, their faces betrayed an undeniable feeling of accomplishment, a feeling that proved contagious—I too, felt as though I had accomplished something great. I had effectively transmitted something for which I care deeply, on to a whole new generation.
None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of Mr. Camille Lemmens. Without Camille, I would be just another Divemaster—don't get me wrong, guiding dives is still my favorite activity—however, it doesn't reward one with the same sense of pride that comes from passing the art of SCUBA on to another individual.
As a working PADI instructor, I can't help but feel the same sense of awe towards Camille as I did with my first open water instructor—he is calm at times that I feel stressed, knowledgeable in areas that I still struggle, and helpful in too many ways to count. Throughout my IDC last March, Camille guided me through the world of professional diving and, though difficult at times, made sure that I absorbed all the information needed to pass my IE. However, above all, he gave me a goal, a mark to hit, for Camille embodies the caliber of instructor that I strive to be everyday.
Do yourself a favor: if you're considering taking your diving career to the next level, turn to Camille Lemmens to help you get there—I promise, you won't be disappointed!

It seems like there are a Million and One places where you can do your IDC. And a Million and one Course Directors to choose from. But, it's actually quite an easy choice: Camille Lemmens!
He is a fabulous teacher, both in and out of the water and I felt extremely well-prepared for the IE. Plus, he's an all-around cool guy and one of the best that I've met in the diving industry. You won't regret your choice.
Jackie Bolen, USA, OWSI, January/February 2011, Malapascua, Philippines - as part of the first ever PADI IE on Malapascua and my first IDC in the Philippines
Out of al the instructors and course directors I've met in the dive industry, Camille Lemmens is the best. He made my IDC and IE on Malapascua in early 2011 a very gentle and relaxing experience and afterwards I felt safe to take on my first open water students.
Martin Eriksson, Sweden, OWSI, January/February 2011, Malapascua, Philippines - as part of the first ever PADI IE on Malapascua and my first IDC in the Philippines
I arrived last December 2010 on Samui. I already knew that I will do OWSI. Paul, from The Dive Academy advised me to do it with Camille. So then, I met Camille before end of last year. Fixed everything to start the IDC soon in January...
So far – so good... everything started. And it was really a lot of experience he teached us. Everything he advised us, I still do it today with customers from me. The other candidate – Darius Irani, was also very nice. I really enjoyed the whole IDC – a litte bit scared about the IE, but after the two days IE – everything finished – and I got my OWSI. Camille – thank You again for Your help, also during the specialities You teached me.
Simon Vetterli, Switzerland, OWSI, January 2011, Koh Samui, Thailand
Doing my IDC on Ko Lanta was one of the most fun times in my diving education. The course not only refined my skills but also taught me how to think about diving from a teaching perspective. Working in a small group meant that I was able to get a lot of individual attention and constructive feedback. After the two-week course, I felt very confident going into my IE which surprisingly also turned out to be a lot of fun, because I felt so prepared.
Heidi Taylor, Canada, OWSI, November 2010, Koh Lanta
Marlies Wolters, Nederland, OWSI, October 2010 IDC, Koh Samui
During my IDC in August 2010, led by Course Director Camille Lemmens, I had a great time and a good experience. Camille is very professional, thorough and complete. During the intensive training, there was ample room for questioning, discussion and, where desired, additional exercise.
With thorough preparation and a lot of confidence, I was well prepared for the IE which I have finished with great success.
Besides all the services during training was the support in finding the way on Koh Samui, as transportation and a good apartment, very pleasant.
Thanks Camille, we had lots of fun. On a scale of 1 to 5, you get a maximum 5!
Marc van Riel, the Netherlands, OWSI, August 2010 IDC, Koh Samui
Camille Donders Bedankt
Mark Bruijnis, #267275, Nederland, Augustus 2010 IDC, Koh Samui
I wish I could attend another IDC with Camille, it was a wonderful learning experience, to be very honest I hated classrooms during my university days, but it was opposite in Camille's IDC classroom. Thanks Camille and hope to see you soon again
Sunil Devaraj, India, OWSI, May 2010 IDC, Koh Samui
We would like to pay our tribute to Platinum Course Director Camille Lemmens. He was from the first minute a real mentor for us and still is. His attitude was from the first second, until today, not only professional, it was outstanding. Camille encouraged us to achieve the best results possible, but he was always good for a joke to relieve the pressure. He is a great motivator and one of the most reliable people we have ever met.
Dijana and Thomas, IDCS, Germany, December 2009 IDC
To all you divers who consider doing an IDC, my recommandation would be, go to Ko Samui and get Camille Lemmens.
I first heard of the guy from some collegues who wanted to do there divemaster with him. I am not to found of Thailand and was planning to do my IDC in Brazil, next year. For different reasons I had to change my plans, so I looked on the internet and came accros his name again. I decided to give it a try and wrote my first mail. Within houres i got a reply. I send some more mails with some more detailed questions and again in no time i got all the information I requested.
So I decided to go ahaed with it and confirmed that I was joining for the IDC, made a downpayment and 3 weeks later I was there.
When I arrived everything was organized. I was picked up from the airport, had a fantastic bungalow for low cost, internet and a scooter. Camille himself was out diving when I arrived but upon his return he came to great me at home. (What a guy)
I also signed up for the prepcourse wich was due to start in 2 weeks but he asked me inmediattely if I wanted the go to the pool the next day to practise some skills! A couple of day’s later he invited me to come to the classroom to go trough some theorie, all that with no extra costs.
The actual prep course and IDC was the most intense PADI course I have ever taken part in. I was a bit worried at the beginning because I’m not the best student ever, but the way he explained things was crystal clear. Even if you didn’t understood something the first time he always had different ways to explain you the same thing. He never lost his patience and was always there for us. We could call him day and night. He is probably the most experienced teacher I ever came accros. Experience you gain trough the years but the dedication he showed that you have or you don’t.
We also did alot of specialty’s, one was wreck diving which took us to Pattaya for a couple of days. Here again he not only showed to be a good mentor but also be a friend.
I never liked Thailand very much, but the 2 months I spend there went by so quick. If I could I do it all over again. One thing is for shure, I will go back.
Thank you Camille.
Olivier Nelis, Belgium, OWSI 987435, October 2009 IDC
I attended the IDC with Camille as the Course Director in Aug-Sept of 2009 with the IE itself held on Koh Tao. It had been a 4 year work in progress to get myself ready for instructor training. I planned a 6 month absence from work and flew to Thailand after contacting Camille and being impressed with the information he provided, speedy responses as well as his willingness to answer in detail all the questions and trepidations I had. Arriving on Koh Samui I was warmly greeted and given a good run down of the island itself and Camille organized a bungalow, jeep and materials all on the first day of my arrival. I attended the IDC with 2 others, a well travelled French fellow and an experienced South African who both turned into very good friends indeed. Koh Samui itself was incredible and very different from Australia's capital to say the least as thousands of games of pool and Singha beer over the next few months would attest. Camille's IDC was extremely good and I was impressed more and more with his attitude, professionalism and understanding of diving, PADI and the opportunities that exist as an Instructor. An exacting but fair critic able to quickly spot faults and remedy them Camille had us completely and totally prepared for the IE. All of us felt that after a couple of weeks with Camille that we were looking forward to the IE and finally being qualified. What I could not have imagined in all those years leading up to it was what an amazing time and how much fun I would have while being there for my exams. We celebrated each small victory as if it was the last and I was extremely satisfied personally to ace the whole IE program which felt straightforward and very smooth after such good preparation and totally attributable to my good Divemaster training with the club back home and then all of Camille's efforts during the IDC to hone our skills and presentations.
I stayed on to do the internship program with Planet Scuba and I couldn't recommend enough that new Instructors do an internship to gain experience, teaching and handle real life scenarios with good experienced instructors. I'd thank Camille, Geoff, Rob and Steve for passing on their knowledge and really teaching how to teach the nuts and bolts of the PADI courses. I'm very glad I stayed on to complete the internship and now feel very confident teaching with the dive club back here in Australia (plus I'm trying to introduce buckets to Aussie pubs). I'd recommend Camille's IDC to anyone. On Koh Samui and Koh Tao I met some truly great people and really enjoyed the six months on the island. For me it was a major life goal to become an Instructor and I'm now enjoying diving and the challenge of teaching. Enjoy it all and have fun.
Chris Jones, MSDT, Australia, September 2009 IDC
I did my IDC with Camille in July of ’09. I was really pleased in the way it was taught, especially after hearing of how other IDC’s went with other instructors.
Not only did I learn a lot, but Camille also kept it fun and interesting, which made it a lot easier for me to focus and learn and retain the information that I needed.
It seemed to me that Camille was not just going through the motions, but was keenly interested in me not only passing the IE, but also excelling in it and becoming a top-notch instructor. I also was pleased that Camille went with us to Koh Tao for support during our IE. That meant a lot to calm our nerves and be able to perform well during the tests.
After the IE, I decided also to take a bunch of specialty instructor courses with Camille to further my experience and value as an instructor, which not only was informative, but really fun during the dives we did where we saw a lot of interesting stuff.
All in all I had a great time and learned a lot, but if I never see another power point slide I probably won’t be too disappointed.
Erik Vinik, USA, OWSI, July 2009 IDC
Don’t know what to say really, but doing the IDC with Chief Camille was really fun , and the knowledge we took in this enriched IDC was bubbling in our head on the last day, just waiting for the IE to release, and so we did , passing the theories and standards in a tremendous easy way.
The way you teach chief is more than professional you teach with feeling of responsibility, same as a dad teaches his children, you have really changed my life and gave me a new way in evaluating situations not only in diving but in life as well, and changed the way I look to life, really you are special and you are a person who have principles and committed to his word, and knowing what you are doing too.
Moreover , you gave me a new family , we were five candidates, and now we are 5 instructors graduated in your 50th IDC, you were our father there, and you gave us a family spirit together; Me, Barbel, Gavin, Prebin, Krit and we all felt it the day of IE. We will meet again and we will be as you instructed us always Chief Camille. thanks again.
Imad Khashfeh, Lebanon, OWSI, February 2009 IDC
Thank you to Camille Lemmens for conducting the Februarys IDC on Koh Samui. He is the best course director I've met very professional and made learning easy and fun. I am honoured to call him my Instructor as now I am a padi instructor myself and he is my role model, I will try to be as good as Camille is that is my new goal. He is a great asset to the worlds best diving company PADI.
He is a pleasure to work with.
Gavin Marsh, UK, OWSI #497920, February 2009
Thanks alot for all your help on the Instructor course and IE. You made it fun, interesting, relaxed and went out of your way to help us out . Cheers, your a great teacher!!!
Steven Wainwright, UK, December 2008 IDC
Chris is now OWSI thanks to Camille's IDC and captivating powerpoints! I highly recommend Camille's IDC to anyone looking for professional and proper training to prepare for the IE. Thanks a million Camille!
Christopher Chiovitti, USA, November 2008 IDC
Of anders mij even een mailtje/berichtje sturen...

So you're thinking about doing the IDC? You're definitely in the right place! I did the IDC with Camille in August 2008 and successfully completed the Instructor Exam straight afterwards.
There are many reasons I chose to do the IDC with Camille, and if you're anything like me you will be asking yourself the same questions, so hopefully my story might help you make a decision.
I live in Sydney, Australia and although the diving is good here there are lots of distractions (work, friends, family etc.) that I knew wouldn't allow me to give focus completely on the IDC/IE. So I started looking abroad so a package to take me from Divemaster to Open Water Scuba Instructor where I could submerse myself in the course. I looked at many different regions of the world and spoke to many different companies and course directors, after which my decision was easy.
I had lots of questions for Camille about the standard and quality of living on Koh Samui, the type of accommodations available, transportation, vehicle hire, shopping (to keep my girlfriend happy), medical facilities, food, entertainment, safety etc, etc. and Camille answered every single question usually the same day, or at least within 24hours for me.
During the MSDT Prep course, we stayed on Samui for one month, the little house we rented was great value for money, with a kitchen, bathroom, A/C, Fan, Satellite TV and a Wi-Fi connection just a short drive from some nice little restaurants, the pier, good shops and the IDC classroom all organized by Camille.
The actual IDC was challenging, no doubt about it, but the hard work really paid off and actually made the IE quite easy, I honestly believe that was purely thanks to Camille's teaching methods and enormous wealth of diving knowledge and experience. Camille was there to offer his guidance and support from the moment I stepped off the plane and we are still in touch by email now.
At first, the thought of living in Thailand for a month was quite daunting, but looking back it was without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life!
Thanks for everything Camille and I'll look forward to diving with you again soon!

On the 2nd Jan 2006 I headed east to Thailand to take my PADI Dive Master with Samui International Dive School, that was the first time I met Camille Lemmens.
He was and still is their Course Director and over the past two years I worked here and despite the ups and down of my life as a Dive Master he was always there to give advise even when I decided to head back to England he was there to make me realize the futility of giving up on my dream of being an OW Scuba Instructor.
His dedication and concern for his students goes way beyond his role as a Course Director, so on the 21st of Aug 2008 and with his help and hard work I sat my IE and passed.
I cannot thank him enough
Steven Turner, UK, August 2008 IDC
We houden contact.

Thank you for your patience and education, Camille! This course is not only professional but also so much fun! It certainly helps me and will help you think where to start from professional diving and its business. (p.s. Camille, I love your graduation party!!!) Good luck to you all new candidates!
Dive Safe, have fun! And share with others~~~

My name is Fred Wynn, BSAC OWI 5374 and now a PADI
OWSI 494460, living in Guernsey, Channel Islands, UK.
I had wanted to do an instructor cross-over or IDC for some time and my intention was to schedule various dive trips around this course. Taking a three month gap break from the office does take some organizing, especially as I wanted to dive in some far flung places. This was an opportunity of a lifetime and I wanted to make good use of every single day.
Unlike other people I had made enquires with, my first impression about dealing with Camille is that you always get a reply – even if it is just an ‘out of office – I will get back to you’ – you have the reassurance that you are being looked after (I had to laugh when I received a reply from one IDC enquiry – when I was actually on the IDC with Camille – the enquiry being made some 4 months previously !) People do things differently, and for me – I wanted to have everything booked, hotels, planes etc for the three months before I left home.
My initial enquiry with Camille was in early September 2007 – and from then on, Camille went out of his way to help me make the necessary hotel bookings in Koh Samui and Koh Tao. I guess looking back, I was probably one of his more ‘demanding’ students – lots of questions, travel tips and of course most important, wanting to get up to speed with PADI and to be prepared for the course. I probably at some disadvantage that others – as I had not gone through the ‘ranks’ of diving with PADI. Camille thankfully gave me the reassurance and pre course help to allay my initial worries.
It had been just a ‘few’ years since I had sat in a classroom and I imagine all the other six candidates, like myself had first day nerves – new people to meet and what the next two weeks had install for us all. Having already done an instructor course with BSAC – the difference is that this is spread over a period of time and not two weeks !
From day one, Camille made us all feel at ease, was extremely professional and I thought had an excellent way of teaching. Day two and the initial panic of, “I’ll never get through these two weeks” was gone. Lots of questions were dealt with, and there was even some good humor thrown into the course as well – which made it a thoroughly enjoyable, not forgetting a very memorable experience.
I believe we were all fortunate as there was a great bunch of people on our IDC – all coming from different parts of the word (Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Guernsey, Singapore and Japan) with so very different personalities. The two weeks were not easy – there were many moment of stress, but this was made easier by the help of Camille, the other students and not forgetting the IDC staff who provided first class ( I mean that !) help in the background.
I would certainly recommend Camille to anyone thinking of doing their IDC.
Fred Wynn, UK, February 2008 IDC
It’s taken me a few weeks to get round to it but I thought I should write a quick letter to say that how happy I was with the IDC course that I done with Camille in Koh Samui and would recommend anyone thinking of doing the course to do it with him.
I started off full of confidence thinking that it would be no problem, but soon into the IDC I realized that it was a going to need a reasonable amount of work and effort to pass this which started me doubting myself ,but with reassurance and help from Camille by the time I finished the IDC I felt that I had the knowledge and skills to pass the IE (which I did J ) .We were taught in a relaxed but professional way and were given all the information (and a bit extra ) to pass the IE.
This wasn’t the first Course Director I looked at doing my course with. I done a little homework myself online and with the phone speaking to different Course Directors and although based in the UK I work the summer season in Cyprus (plug forwww.pwmarinedivers.com ) so had plenty of options of different course directors and decided to opt to fly to Koh Samui to do my course. There are already good reviews of Camille’s courses online and after speaking to him several times on the phone and him answering all my questions I decided I would do my course there which I’m happy to say I passed.
Hopefully in 2008 I shall be back to do my Staff Instructor course with him.

Camille, Thank you so much for the last two months. I came to you as a divemaster, and I have now left feeling very confident in my instructor abilities. I enjoyed the IDC greatly and had a great time doing my MSDT on Koh Tao. The people that I worked with were lovely and I have memories that will surely last me a lifetime.
On a more personal note, thank you for all the things you did that were above and beyond what I had expected of a course director. When I was ill, you were incredibly supportive and both my family and I will always be grateful. I felt very welcome within your family and as you know, I was never worried when asking you a MILLION questions.
I wish you every success in the future, and you never know, you may make an IDC Staff Instructor out of me yet!
All the best
Laura Hawkhead, UK, July 2007 IDC
When you go through your IDC in preparation for the Instructor Exams, it is most important your Course Director will guide you on upgrading your skills, knowledge and attitude. Surely Camille Lemmens is the man who can help you identifying your weak spots. Profiting from his clear, personal and constructive guidance I was able to pass the IE with high scores.
Ton Mandemaker, Nederland, May 2007 IDC
I’m a great believer in the value of customer feedback. So having just got my 25 certs to finish the whole program, and as a paying customer of SIDS/Planet Scuba - I thought I’d let you know my views – including some observations and recommendations for you to think about to help future MSDT students you train.
Overall it is an excellent concept and I’ve gained huge benefits from working along side experienced instructors over the last five weeks. It’s an excellent transition from passing the IE to working in the real world. By shadowing other instructors and seeing how they teach, it built my confidence allowing me to bring my own elements to how I teach and then “cherry picking” elements from each of the instructors I worked with.
Planet Scuba on Koh Tao was a great place to do this. All staff – from instructors, through to the Thai boys were friendly and helpful. There’s a good community vibe here, that makes it fun for staff and students alike. Whilst I’ve been on Koh Tao I haven’t seen another dive shop where I would have wanted to do my internship.
Having said that, I have a couple of recommendations that would have made life easier. Being new to Koh Tao I was unfamiliar with the dive sites. It would have helped with the OW dives to be given laminated maps when I arrived, or even some orientation dives on the main sites, with these maps before starting on courses. Obviously this would have extended the time to get the 25 certs by a few days but it would have been worth it in terms of later confidence to lead the OW dives.
I found the IDC excellent. Professional but FUN!!! Well taught, good materials, good classroom – and great lunches!
So thanks to everyone – in particular Camille, Toby, D-Mo, Ian and Bob. I’ve learned a hell of a lot from you all which I know will set me up for the future, whatever that holds!!!
Paul Cooper, UK, OWSI, May 2007 IDC
Knowing that the Instructor Exam would require vast amounts of knowledge, we had begun preparing for the IDC already but we also knew much of what needed to be learned would not come from books or manuals. We needed to participate in an IDC. After many hours of research on different IDC courses, Camille became our first choice, and came highly recommended by our local dive shop.
Camille made our communications easy by way of email, and even though we were living half way around the world there was never more than a day between sending and receiving emails, and many times a reply was received in less than eight hours. We never needed to talk by phone, but that was something we felt would happen if we had asked for a call from him.
After making all the arrangements we could in advance, we finally arrived at the Koh Samui airport and were greeted by Camille. He provided us a warm welcome and transportation to a hotel for the night that he arranged in advance for us. The following morning, we met again with Camille where he provided us with an island orientation drive and then helped us secure long-term accommodations, transportation, and he even helped us with locating the items we needed to purchase for our stay.
After only a couple of days to settle in (we would encourage several days to overcome jet lag) we attended the pre-IDC refresher course that Camille offers. This was a wonderful way to get wet in our new "home" and get back in the swing of what we needed to remember to pass the IE. It was at this time that we discovered a simple equipment malfunction, and again Camille came to the rescue with a loaner SPG.
During the rest of the course, we found that anything that we didn't understand or had questions on always received extra attention from Camille, provided we asked for the help. Never once did we feel rushed or pushed to get through the material. If we needed help, Camille did what was required for us to learn what we needed to know.
At the end of the IDC, Camille sat down with each of us one last time to discuss with us our personal weaknesses and strengths, and a final summary on if we should take the IE, or wait for the next one and repeat the IDC. In both of our cases, we were prepared in his opinion. As he had a vested interest in seeing us pass the IE, we both know that he would have told us we were not ready if that had been the case.
After traveling to Koh Tao for the IE, the exam was just as it was described to us. The first day was straight forward and a relief to get behind us. The second day was smooth enough. The third, and final, day was the longest but we knew that we were so close to the end. Finally, we got the results that we passed, and the burden was lifted from our shoulders.
Camille was there to celebrate with us immediately following the IE and again a few nights later when we met for a formal meal to celebrate our accomplishments.
Even now, after several months, Camille has continued to be there for us to provide insight and advice when requested. These are all special touches that make Camille's program one worth considering, and we would certainly say we are satisfied customers.

I did my IDC in Koh Samui Thailand with the Course Director Camille Lemmens. I really want to congratulate for a job really well done. We did the IDC in great atmosphere. I passed with a high score. He is great

My name is Rob Doughty and I am from the UK.
Since 1995 I have been a PADI diver and since 2003 Divemaster. It was my intention to do my IDC soon after completing my Divemaster training in 03 but a nasty accident at work scaffolding in mid 2003 (I nearly chopped my leg off just below the knee) put paid to that so had to wait till Nov 2006 until I was fit enough to do the IDC.
I consider myself VERY lucky because I choose to come to Samui & receive my IDC training from Camille Lemmens. My first day on my IDC prep I thought "Oh dear Rob how unprepared can you be to start an IDC" I can tell you not much more than me anyway.
Over the next 2 weeks Camille took me from my state of near panic "what have I let myself in for here" to my IE exam weekend & we had a lot fun along the way.
Well, I passed my IE on that weekend & in my view this was all down to Camille & his methods of teaching & coaching both in the classroom & in the water. Camille is a PADI Professional with a capital P.
I am proof if you choose Camille as your IDC Course Director & arrive with a dedication to become OWSI, Camille will teach you the abilities, knowledge & skill needed to be successful on your IE. And make you laugh along the way.
One month ago I was a Divemaster questioning my own ability to succeed in the IE now I am an OWSI, EFRI, DAN O2 Instructor & well on my way to MSDT, in 9 specialties.
I owe & BIG thanks to Camille he is definitely on my Christmas card list for keeps.
Rob Doughty, UK, November 2006 IDC
An excellent instructor, and one I would definitely hope to do business with again in the future.
Dave Webb, UK, August 2006 IDC
I took my Instructor Development Course in August 06 with Camille.
He is a very patient and encouraging coach. Camille will not only see that you get through your Instructor Development Course with ease, but he is also concerned about your general affairs and if you need a listening ear or someone to have a chat with, he can be a friend and be there for you too.
There had been a number of fun parties during the course as well. Courses with Camille are not all about exams and presentations. He also understands that it is stressful and that the downtime is important. Best of all, he joins the group and sometimes, it can be funny...
In a nut shell, good coach and mentor.
Jack Yang, Singapore, OWSI #485662, August 2006 IDC
From the first e-mail that I sent to Camille I found him to be prompt, informative and highly professional with all his replies that he sent to me.
During my course Camille made the whole experience as fun and as stress free as an IDC can be.
I have no hesitation in recommending Camille to anyone considering doing their IDC.
John Leca, MSDT, UK, August 2006 IDC
I took my Instructor Development Course in June of 2006 and had a great time. Camille made the course as much fun as possible and this only added to the experience.
By the time of the IE, I was satisfied that Camille had given me all of the necessary information for me to pass. This I duly did, even though I did get a bit upset for having to retake my physics exam; and maybe I took it out on him. That aside I was confident that if I was to fail it would have been of my own doing and not what I had been taught.
I will always be greatful to him for his teachings and if I ever thought of doing my IDC Staff Instructor Course, I'd know where to look.
Stuart Reeve, UK, June 2006 IDC
My name is Erik Flensted, I am from Denmark and I am a PADI instructor OWSI- 487828
I participated in the Instructor Development Course with Course Director Camille Lemmens in May 2006.
The reason I chose to do my IDC with Camille in the first place was that he was the only CD I contacted who gave me personal answers to all of my questions I had before actually signing up for the IDC.
Once I got to Samui, Camille picked me up at the airport and showed me a nice and not so expensive place to rent while I did my IDC. During the Instructor Development Course I was not so strong with the different rescue scenarios, so Camille stayed longer untill he was certain that I was capable enough to pass at the IE.
Camille also went with us to Koh Tao where we did the IE, it was very reasuring to have him around, just in case we had any last minute questions etc. Once I finished my IDC, Camille helped me find a job as an instructor, which I am also very gratefull for.
So all in all I can only give Camille my very best recommendations to anyone who considers doing their IDC in Thailand or anywhere else for that matter.
Erik Flensted, Denmark, OWSI 487828, May 2006 IDC
Hi all, my name is Tony. I'm a PADI OWSI and GUE diver.
Although I did my IDC with Camille many years ago, I have never forgotten Camilles enthusiasm and professional approach towards diver training. Camille is able to personalise the training to every candidates needs and will go that extra bit whatever you need help with. I'm still thankful that I did my IDC with Camille and made it through the IE without any trouble at all.
Recently we ran into each other in Khao Lak were he was conducting another IDC and had a great evening catching up on our life stories.
After my IE I worked as an Instructor on Koh Samui and Koh Lipe and eventually became partner in a dive centre. During my IDC Camille always emphasised the importance of adhering to standards and procedures. This gave me a solid foundation in how to approach teaching and running my own dive operation.
After many years in Thailand working as an instructor I decided to explore some other parts of Asia together with my partner, who is also an instructor.
As an instructor and active diver I have been fortunate enough to visit and work in some of the most amazing dive locations in Asia, including Borneo, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Maldives. I feel this would not have been possible had I not become involved in the dive industry.
My resent position was running and managing a dive centre on Maldives with my partner. The Maldives was always a place I'd wanted to visit as a diver but was unfortunately beyond my budget, as it is for most divers. So to work and dive in the Maldives was a truly amazing experience.
Thanks again Camille for your passionate approach to training and believing in my abilities more than I did. It paid off. : o)
Hope to catch up with you again soon.
Kind regards and best wishes. Tony > <)))))*>

I had previously been taught to dive by another organisation, my crossover to PADI to become an instructor was greatly helped by Camille. He guided me through the IDC and gave me the confidence to complete the IE. Needless to say I gained the OWSI grade on my first attempt. His knowledge of Samui is also valuable and helped me settle there for my time. I have since returned to Samui and have been teaching full time for over a year now. It definately changed my life.
Steve Durber, UK, April 2005 IDC
I did my IDC with Camille after working as a Divemaster for almost a year. I found Camille to be professional, friendly and full of enthusiasm for not only thoroughly preparing me for the Instructor Examination but also for producing good Instructors.
Of course you have to be open to learning and willing to put in some work yourself, but Camille did an excellent job of imparting both the knowledge and skills that would become my tools as a Professional Diving Instructor.
Because I was working, I had no time to prepare prior to the Instructor Development Course, so for me the IDC was quite intense. However, after the thorough training I received from Camille, I found passing the IE to be a breeze! - The way it should be if you have a Course Director who knows what he's doing!
I began diving only in Feb 2004, Open Water through to Divemaster by the end of April 2004. My head instructor was Michael Kerr. Michael did an excellent job in turning me into a good diver and then, with solid training and experience, into a dive professional. Michael was also trained by Camille (See Michael's 2003 testimonial on this page).
I now work as a freelance dive instructor and have built up a good reputation on the west coast of Thailand, as I had done previously on the east coast. I owe a lot to Camille and Michael. I hope that by successfully earning a living, doing a job that I love, and by producing good, safe divers that I am repaying them.
Vincent Moy (OWSI #480516), UK, February 2005 IDC
Camille Lemmens was extremely good as a Course Director, very professional, attention to a lot of detail, lots of tips from his own extensive experience, patient with slow students, impressive background knowledge & deep technical explanations when asked for.
Role model dive professional for me.
Robin Blokker, Nederland, February 2005 IDC
I have been lucky enough to have sat in on two of Camille's IDCs. I completed my IDC Staff course with Camille in 2004, and Camille was kind enough to then let me staff an IDC with him, further helping me with my presentation and scoring techniques. During this time Camille was encouraging and always available to help or advise.
Camille is a very experienced Course Director / Instructor, and this shows in his presentations. The classroom time with Camille was always informative, yet still entertaining. Camille knows the PADI system inside out, and knows how to help YOU get through your IDC.
Richard Reardon, UK, IDCS, November 2004 IDC, Koh Samui, Thailand, Richard is now a PADI Course Director
2017; I did my idc with him in 2004... can not say anything but good things....professional idc.... tks camille... all these yrs later.... still love teaching
Kevin Verbist, België, IDCS 965843, November 2004 IDC
My PADI IDC was one of my best professional experiences. I’ve always wanted to become a scuba diving instructor. And then in November 2004 I could make my dream come true.
My first “chat” with Camille was by email. Already I could feel how professional, patient and nice he could be. He answered very quickly to my emails, reassuring me. I had never been in a PADI course before since I come from the French scuba diving organisation so I had a lot of questions.
The IDC was very intensive and challenging. Camille again was very patient, pedagogue, encouraging me when I needed it or pressuring a little when I wanted to let it go.
I didn’t think I could do it but I was well prepared by Camille, I passed and now I can live my dream by teaching scuba diving courses. So Camille, merci!
Audrey Josserand, France, OWSI # 634333, October 2004 IDC
I would like to thank Camille Lemmens for his inspiration in encouraging me to complete my IE after a recent motorbike accident. Without the inspiration and encouragement from Camille and his staff I might never have gotten through the IE.
I will never forget this experience and will carry this kind of PADI spirit with me when I teach the world to dive!

'Camille nurtured my enthusiasm in the PADI system of diver education. He was always willing to provide coaching and advice during my preparation, IDC and prior to my Instructor Exam. I found the lecture and practical sessions informal, fun and friendly and feel I couldn't have been better prepared for the future. I would like to personally thanks Camille for his efforts.'

My Name is Mr Andrew M Twigg PADI (OWSI 636698)
As part of my end of service in the British Army I chose to resettle into civilian life by attending the PADI Instructor Development Course and become a PADI Diving Instructor.
Having served as a Military Diver for 22 years I thought this would be a breeze! After all; ‘the underwater experience that I have logged, this will be a walk in the park’! And I get to be a student in Koh Samui, a beautiful Island in Thailand, plus the Army pays for it! Now how good is that?
Camille, (Course Director) was beyond doubt a truly outstanding professional. From my initial email asking about the course to him seeing me to the airport with my certificates in my hand. His energy and enthusiasm throughout the course were infectious, and these are rare qualities. So impressed with these qualities I decided to extend my OWSI Course and become a Specialty Instructor in 11 Different specialties! Plus phoned my girlfriend and told her to ‘get on a plane with your diving gear, you are going to be an MSDT!’ Which she did and now has the certification!
I learnt so much from Camille beyond my 22 years as a Military Diver, which was a shock.
I fully endorse the experience of attending an IDC with Camille and if you get the chance ask him to take you on some Specialty Courses. Small Groups / Individual instruction were a complete pleasure and the knowledge, priceless!

Hi I'm Shane Furze PADI MSDT (479555) and I completed my IDC with Camille in 2004 which was an excellent learning, dive tuning and confidence building two weeks.
After being a bit apprehensive of starting the course I was completely put at ease by Camille's teaching abilities and years of experience in the dive industry which he is able to draw on and pass on to you and by doing so you are learning the real thing.
Camille wants you to become a brilliant instructor, after you pass your IE, you will not only become a dive professional and a ambassador for PADI but also proof of how good a teacher he is. After completing my IE, I went on to get nine specialities with Camille which was a unique experience and completed an internship to gain the MSDT rating.
I work in the superyacht industry as an engineer but since gaining my instructor licence I now also have the pleasure of taking our guests and crew diving around the world. Shane Furze, chief engineer, S/Y Vent D'Est

I am Julia from Germany and did my IDC with Camille in Feb. 04.
I was living in Bangkok at that time, so Koh Samui was a very convenient choice in the beginning. However, it turned out to be a very good one as well. The IDC with Camille was, despite hard work and long evenings
learning, lots of fun. It was very clear that he knows what he is doing and he does it with passion and a very professional approach. Before I came to Thailand in 2001 I had become a Rescue Diver in the UK and never wanted to go any further. I am glad though that I changed my mind and became an
instructor as it was a great experience thanks to Camille. After my IDC I also completed several instructor specialty courses with him.
The fact that I am not teaching at the moment (and not even diving, mind you) has certainly nothing to do with Camille but with being back in Germany and not being tempted too much by cold water, quarries and lakes with nil viz. I guess I am spoilt :-).

I attended one of Camille Lemmens´ Instructor Development Courses in October 2003 and from the start you could tell he knew his stuff with very good demonstrations of how to teach and he was never stumped when asked a question.
I had known Camille through my job as boatmaster with Samui International Diving School and had seen how he had a very good raport with the previous few IDC groups before I decided to attempt the course myself. Our course was no different and although Camille knew a few of us candidates he showed no favouritism and treated everyone with the same courtesy, respect and humour (although I did try to wind him up he always came back with a witty reply then back to business).
We all passed the IE and celebrated with a great party at which Camille was bumping and grinding on the dance floor with the best of them.
Since the Instructor Development Course I worked freelance and with a dive school in Koh Samui, have married the gorgeous Debbie, one of my fellow candidates, together we ran a dive resort on one of the atolls off Belize and today (Dec 2006) we paid the deposit on our own dive business in Puerto Morelos, just south of Cancun, Mexico.
Thanks Camille we couldn´t have done it without you mate.

After completing my Degree, I had a serious urge to do something different.
At this stage, I was an Advanced Open Water diver, and decided that I would like to become an instructor.
However, when I then tried to find out how I could do this, I found it frustrating to make contact with any individuals or dive schools who could actually provide me with the info I required. When I first made contact with Camille, I was so relieved and impressed, because Camille always answered all my questions promptly, and was always willing to help.
Not only did I find that Camille was a wealth of knowledge in terms of all my diving questions, but he was also able to provide me with all the info that I needed so that I could prepare myself for an extended stay in Thailand.
I must commend Camille on being an awesome mentor to me in my training. Apart from making all the training fun and highly enjoyable, Camille also places great value on following correct methodology as well as a high emphasis on Safety.
I would highly recommend Camille to anyone who considers doing their IDC training!

Taking your IDC can be a stressful time, especially for someone like myself, over 40 and long time since I last sat in a class room and took an exam. Camille’s professional and thorough approach together with his friendly and easy going manner made me feel at ease from day one. Camille has been in the dive industry a long time and it was obvious from the start of the course that he knew what it would take to get me through first time. And I did pass first time so all thanks to Camille and I would recommend his IDC to anyone.

I was a Candidate on Camille’s first ever IDC back in April 2003.
His method of teaching is to gradually build you up over 2 weeks, so that by the time it comes to your Instructor Examination, you feel as confident as possible about demonstrating skills, passing your exams, classroom presentations, and everything else that you need to pass your I.E. !
Camille has a great passion for teaching you, to become an excellent Instructor. But more importantly for me, he has a fantastic knowledge of the business of diving.
Camille has passed a wealth of his experience and knowledge onto me, and as a result I have worked for Samui International Diving School full time since passing my IDC almost 4 years ago!
I am currently working as The Office Manager of our Malibu Head Office here on Koh Samui.
If you would like to see how successful Camille’s IDC’s can be for you, please feel free to pop in to see me at our Malibu Shop,

Hello, my name is Sabrina,
I decided to do my IDCS-Staff course with Camille in 2003.
After two years of teaching experience, I thought it was time to go the next step.
I chose Camille to be my Course Director, I knew him personally and knew the way he teaches his courses, and this was very important to me as his inspiration led me to sign up in the first place.
As an IDCS candidate you see the Instructor Development Course in a different way, you learn to improve your skills and knowledge to the maximum.
Thinking about it, I shouldn’t have waited two years, but do it much sooner!
To see how Camille took care of his candidates on arrival, by helping them find accommodation and prepared them before the course started was impressing ( the prep course wasn’t even an “option” in my IDC) Camille has an excellent way of teaching the Instructor Development Course and of getting you to understand thing by example, should you still have a problem with something he will take you to the side and work it out.
In fact I think he is a walking book of knowledge as he always seems to have the answer to all questions. (-:
But don’t think that because of his professionalism he can not make the lessons fun!
He will crack one of his jokes when you least expect it!
He has influenced my ways of teaching to the positive, I learned to improve my techniques….especially in the Dive Master course.
The experience I gained in this course opened my eyes even to the things I forgotten and standards that had changed since I did my IDC.
Over all to have completed this program helped me in many ways especially in the diving business , now I earn more money never have a problem finding a job plus I get to teach all the Dive Master courses!!
The diving centers will give you more responsibility and will more likely offer an important position like Manager to you!
So all in all if you are planning to do your Idc do it with Camille, he is the best there is.
And if you are already an instructor sign up for your IDCS–Staff course, you will know what I am talking about once you have done it!!!
Sabrina Kretschmann, Germany, IDC-Staff 208246, April 2003 IDC
