The PADI Divemaster course
Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational diving begins with the DM program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
During the DM program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. You put this knowledge into action through an internship or series of practical training exercises.
The PADI Divemaster Internship option
allows you to work with real student divers, gaining real world experience while assisting and supervising in a busy PADI Career Development Center. This work experience will allow you to reach the 60 logged dives required to be certified as a Divemaster.
PADI Divemaster Practical Training Exercise
If you're already an experienced diver and/or have already logged lots of dives (more than 60) the Practical Training Experience may be your option. It allows you to complete the Divemaster Course in 10 days to two weeks. It takes a lot of dedication to complete the course in such a short time frame though and you will need to arrive well prepared.
Currently the Divemaster course is only 26.500,-Baht if you participate in the 1 to 2 weeks Practical Experience version of the course with a maximum of 20 logged dives.
