CDC CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The PADI 5 Star Career Development Center (CDC)

is a 5 Star IDC center that meets all 5 Star IDC requirements and has dedicated its business to professional development training beyond introductory instructor development courses.

  The PADI Career Development Center

award recognizes progressive and professional 5 Star IDC's who have committed resources to dive industry career training.

There are more than 40 Instructor Development Centers (IDC's) in Thailand , but only 3 (three) have been awarded the prestigious CDC rating. Samui International Diving School is one of the three CDC's in Thailand and was the first dive Center ever in Thailand to receive this prestigious rating.

The philosophy of PADI's CDC award is that divers, PADI members and the dive industry at large benefit from the PADI 5 Star CDC's commitment to professional development and excellence.

Career oriented scuba instructors entering today's dive industry seeking employment need knowledge and skills beyond the ability to teach diving. Samui International Diving School meets the requirements for assisting dive leaders in reaching their educational and professional goals and prepares them for successful careers in the dive industry.

Beyond those benefits they already have as 5 Star IDC, a 5 Star CDC benefits from PADI's Instructor Development marketing and promotional efforts that place institutional advertisements in dive publications and position the PADI CDC's quality and prestige.

  PADI 5 Star CDC Centers

offer career-oriented training to prepare dive professionals for employment in the dive industry and offer job placement assistance for program graduates.

They also may offer graduates of their six week career development program special credentials and recognition materials.

Special IE option for CDC's

Candidates enrolled in five pre-and/or post-IDC courses (Pre-study, EFRI, PADI Instructor Specialties etc.) OR candidates of a six-week career development program who successfully complete an IDC, conducted by a CDC center, may attend an IE if they have been certified divers for at least six months, have logged 60 dives and are certified Assistant Instructors (the AI course is now an integrated part of the IDC).

CDC candidates who successfully complete an IE and subsequently meet the 100-logged-dive requirements will be certified as PADI Instructors when their paperwork has been processed by PADI.
