When the hard work of the PADI IDC on Gili Air in Indonesia is done, which is directly followed by a PADI IE, it’s time to relax, kick back and do some fun things. Fun according to newly certified Instructors involves diving!

This makes it a very small step towards specialty instructor training and we had a few dives before I left the island on my way back home to Thailand.

The specialties that we covered included side mount, deep, digital underwater photography, underwater navigation, Nitrox and Emergency Oxygen provider. The latter doesn’t involve diving though!

Sander, the owner at PADI 5* IDC Center ‘Oceans 5’ on Gili Air and fellow PADI Course Director, will continue with more specialties and complete the training that I couldn’t complete because I’m on the move to my next IDC program.
