The PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course

familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary for altitude diving, including how to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude.

Why PADI Altitude Diver?

Any time you're diving from 300 to 3000 metres/1000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you're altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, the Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.

What do I need to start?

Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
Minimum age: 10 years old

What will I do?

This Specialty diver course familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude. This includes:

Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
Special Recreational Dive Planner procedures for diving at altitude
Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures
Special equipment necessary for altitude diving

How long will it take?

Recommended Course Hours: 24
Minimum Open Water Training: two dives over one day

Where can I go from here?

At your instructor's discretion, you can count your Adventures In Diving Altitude Adventure Dive towards the Altitude Diver Specialty course. This Specialty course also counts toward one of the five Specialties required for your PADI Master Scuba Diver certification.

Camille now includes your Nitrox Instructor rating for FREE in all IDC courses and internships (this offer does not include required materials for becoming a Nitrox diver / Instructor and applications fees).

Accommodation on Samui ranges from simple moderately priced beach bungalows for 500 Baht per night with shower & fan up to medium priced Resorts with Air-con rooms with en suite toilet & bathroom priced 1200 - 2000 Baht per night.

We can help you find a self catering Bungalow for between 8000 - 12000 Baht per month, equipped with cooking facilities and living room. In fact most of our Divemaster / IDC Candidates staying for extended periods select this option, some have even found decent rooms for less than 8000 Baht , although you would need to rent and ride a small moped (90cc) to get around which costs approximately 3500 Baht per month. For your arrival on Samui, we are pleased to provide complimentary transfer to your resort and provide information on the local area.
