
PADI ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
Are you a PADI Divemaster?
You’re getting close. Now it’s time to start your Instructor Development Course (IDC). This program consists of two sections, the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. This structure lets you divide the course into two blocks for schedule convenience if you need to. However, you may prefer to complete the two portions together, going through the entire program in as few as seven days.
The first part of the IDC is the AI program. This program provides you additional experience as a PADI Professional and teaches you the PADI System of diver education.
PADI Assistant Instructors can;

Teach knowledge development (classroom) presentations (under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor)

Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills (under the indirect supervision of an Instructor)

Teach the Project AWARE Specialty course

Prerequisites for the PADI AI Course:
- PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another organization
- Be at least 18 years old
- 60 logged dives (with experience in night, deep and navigation)
- Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months
- Proof of CPR and first aid training within the last 24 months
What it takes:
- Self-study – Knowledge reviews, quizzes, lectures and presentations
- Confined water – Skills review and assessment, workshops and presentations
- Open Water – Workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations
How long will it take?
- The course can vary from as little as three days to more than two weeks. At IDC Thailand we schedule for 4 days.

Prior to the IDC there is a 2 day Prep Course
to refresh your dive theory and sharpen your pool and rescue
skill demonstrations. After completing the Prep Course
you will be ready to go into the IDC with confidence in your
knowledge and skills.
Any candidate participating in an IDC Prep Course who is not then successful in the PADI IE will be invited to join our next IDC and IE in Thailand free of charge.

FREE PADI NITROX INSTRUCTOR
Camille now includes your PADI Nitrox Instructor rating for FREE in all IDC courses and internships (this offer does not include required materials for becoming a PADI Nitrox diver / Instructor and applications fees).
Accommodation on Samui ranges from simple moderately priced beach bungalows for 500 Baht per night with shower & fan up to medium priced Resorts with Air-con rooms with en suite toilet & bathroom priced 1200 - 2000 Baht per night.
We can help you find a self catering Bungalow for between 8000 - 12000 Baht per month, equipped with cooking facilities and living room. In fact most of our PADI Divemaster / IDC Candidates staying for extended periods select this option, some have even found decent rooms for less than 8000 Baht , although you would need to rent and ride a small moped (90cc) to get around which costs approximately 3500 Baht per month. For your arrival on Samui, we are pleased to provide complimentary transfer to your resort and provide information on the local area.
